MTD Develops Headband Components in Response to COVID-19

CLEVELAND, OHIO — APR 9, 2020 — The shop at MTD’s Valley City, Ohio headquarters developed and is producing headband components for plastic face shields through an injection mold tool and set up for CNC machines.

At about 8,500 components per day, MTD will continue to supply the pieces to the Ohio Manufacturing Alliance to Fight COVID-19 who will have them assembled into 750,000 to one million face shields in the next five weeks. From there, the shields will become part of Ohio’s stockpile and distributed to those on the frontlines of the pandemic.
